Yes, Clean again - again

Sometime later (just rediscovered this blog...)

The Sinister Cleaners album is taking shape. The last month has seen us attempt to be decisive and commit to releasing something.

The trouble is we're all very busy with other projects at the moment. Len's meant to be working on new Ukrainians music this year, John's promoting the solo stuff and presumably trying to keep Whole Sky Monitor moving forward, Simon's always away on tour. Not sure who he's with at the moment (Mogwai? in Europe?) and I'm really pulling out all the stops at the moment to get The Tripping Cherubs album out.

It looks like The Tripping Cherubs and The Sinister Cleaners will release albums in parallel as Len and myself have been putting the Cleaners album into some shape. I've been doing all the artwork and Len's basically proposing track listings. John's not so sure about what we're doing I don't think and Simon is in communicado (?).

Anyway, now I've remember I set this bog up I'll try to post every now and then. It would be nice if it was a social blog but I'm not sure I can convince the others to participate...

In the beginning was the end

The band has just finished it first recording session in God knows how many years (16?) and it went so well we decided to split.
Well, more accurately it went so well we realised we weren't the band we used to be and had to change our name.
This picture shows everyone but me (as usual, and thank God) in the control room surprisingly not in hysterics. It's near the end of the the first or second day and Len is putting down a guitar part - why he's doing in there and not in the studio I don't know! I never thought to ask.
And that typifies the attitude that prevailed - lack of pre-conceptions and so much more confident and laid back to when we used to frequent studios.
Anyway, after four days in the studio we had four tracks pretty well done and dusted. Songs written a long time ago, but until now never recorded.
